When we powered down and found ourselves another comfortable retirement community to spend part of the year in we had to learn how to store our fifth wheel. After reading all the references I found that when storing on asphalt a barrier was needed between the asphalt and tires and that the best type was wood. I also found that the entire tire footprint needed to be on the wood. A little more research revealed that it is best to have the trailer as level as possible. It helps keep the weight spread out evenly over the axles and the supporting tires and it also keeps the chemicals in the refrigerator level for quick restarting. The Everest owners manual recommends the tires be kept at maximum sidewall pressure so I also do that.

Our trailer is heavy while in storage as It’s always ready to go with everything needed already loaded for the road except for food & clothing.

p.s. I change my ST tires every three years so I don’t worry about the suns rays.
