I got new tires!

I've taken pretty good care of my Towmax tires, but one sidewall has a nick. And the tires are nearing the four mark. Without knowing their true history, I've been itching for replacement.

The typical online price for Maxxis 205/75-R14 are about $125 each with free shipping. I called my favorite independent shop and they offered to order them for me. Five tires mounted, balanced, and installed came out to $610.

I'm feeling pretty good. And confident with my new tires. Thanks go out to Joe at Tucker Tire.

Service at a trusted local shop is a good idea. Generally you will not have problems, but if you do it is nice to work with someone you know

Good choice for the tires.. I put a lot of miles on my Tow Max tires approx 12,000 without any problems knock on wood but glad to have the Maxxis tires on now.

I blew 3 towmax tires. mine is a 3 axle with 16 inch rims so I could go to lt tires and meet the weight requirements. make sure to weigh your rig and double check your real axle weight. to many trouble free miles.

After a 600 mile trip, I'm very happy with the tires. And I noticed one great bonus with the new tires. Their stopping power is much better than the Towmax.

Approaching a construction zone, traffic was slowing down quickly. Throw in about five cars merging into my lane at the same time and I had to stop ASAP. It was almost a panic stop, but the tires didn't break traction at all. My Towmax tires would have been skidding.

I'm super impressed with these tires. I felt them after a freeway drive and they weren't very warm at all.
