I like your style - however - that would be enough for both the DW and I.
My personal favorite is biscuits & sauage gravy with a side of buttermilk pancakes.:)

I LOVE the crock pot breakfast- sans cheese. Lactose intolerant but I become a masochist when it comes to ice cream.

oooooooohh.... blackberry cobbler with ice cream for breakfast! Sounds great.
Can't wait to go camping next week!!!

Happy camping!

Don't like eggs so it's bacon, some sausage, breakfast potatoes and cheese.

Strong black coffee (with Baileys) and orange juice.

Otherwise it's oatmeal for me.

Scrambled eggs, potatoes O'Brian, bacon, orange juice and coffee. A bloody Mary could well be on the menu. If I wake up feeling healthy then its fruit and yogurt.

After reading all these posts I see myself taking an extra Lipitor and going to hell with myself for breakfast Saturday morning. Can't do it tomorrow, I have a 9:30 cardiologist appointment and he would smell the bacon on my breath. It's no wonder they say you meet the nicest folks in camp grounds.

I stopped eating like that years ago, the DW and the Doc have me on Cheerios and 2% with the occasional bran muffin. But about every six months or so I cheat and eat my favorite breakfast. :D

For me it's a South Texas breakfast-2 country sausage and egg tacos with salsa, a cup of fresh orange juice and mug of hot coffee with a little creamer. Same thing I just finished!

WHEW !!!!!

I was starting to be concerned with who would be left to post on the forum after a couple breakfasts like that.....

While I'm not a proponent of unhealthy eating, the "old fashioned" GI recipe SOS on toast or biscuits with a couple over easy eggs, hash browns and lots of coffee seems like a good way to start the day. Like you, Cheerios, oat meal, raisin toast, Eggos, or a Jimmy Deal LITE (turkey sausage and egg white) biscuit are all the DW will allow me to have. <sigh> :(

John -
Compared to some of the posters' breakfasts, your wife's may actually have some nutritional and health benefits. The Bloody Mary is usually made with tomato juice and may come with a celery stick - both of which are good for you. Now, if she could only order a "virgin Bloody Mary" instead .........:D

Interesting that you didn't mention what YOU have for breakfast when out

It's a tough choice. If cooking inside it's breakfast tacos made with bacon, potatoes, onions, poblano peppers, eggs, and cheese all scrambled up in the skillet, served on tortillas and topped with salsa. If cooking outside, definitely homemade biscuits cooked in the Dutch oven and served with real butter and any kind of fruit preserves.

DH likes bacon, eggs and hash browns and biscuits or sweet rolls. Costco has dehydrated shredded potatoes that come in individual serving cartons or one "big Costco size" carton that you can portion out. They are easy and very good.

Me - I'm an oatmeal/fruit or yogurt, fruit and granola gal. DH likes oatmeal, too :)

12 eggs? How many people does this feed? Can you use frozen hashbrowns? Sounds good, and I should be like the others and do bran flakes. Was in the hospital emergency room 3 weeks ago thinking something went wrong with the ticker. So did the drs. 6 month old stent was good, main arteries looked good....but something wasn't right. Now I am better under nitro.

Good news is we finally are going camping this weekend, for a full 4 days!! yahoooooooooooooo!

We like Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage. Don't know if it's any better for you, but can't be bad, once in a while. They come frozen, pre-cooked, so great for camping. Make good meat for pizza too. Breakfast pizza, perhaps.

Pioneer baking mix (Bisquick with buttermilk) and half n half cream in place of milk. Mix the biscuit dough, add in one pound of cooked (FRIED) and crumbled Jimmy Dean Hot sausage (drained on a brown paper bag) and one 8 ounce package of grated sharp cheddar cheese. Pat out the mixture to 1" thick, cut biscuits, bake until done (per package instructions), serve with honey, fig preserves or jalepeno jelly (if you're brave enough) and lots of strong Louisiana coffee......

What we cannot ever know is how much longer, if any, we may have lived if we did all the things we are told we should do. In addition, the things we should do seems to change every few years anyway and contradicts what we were told before which makes me very skeptical that any of it is based on real science or fact. Considering how painful and degrading the last few years of life are for the very aged I am not certain living as long as possible is a goal I share. I much prefer to live now, serve my God, and enjoy life in a reasonable way and not be concerned with how many days I have left.

My many years of experience and observation tells me when we will expire is controlled much more by genetics than a moderate diet of life's pleasure foods. Thats not to imply if a problem arises I will not modify my behavior to keep enjoying life, but I have no interest in seeing just how long I can survive at any cost to the pleasure that comes when we embrace what has been given to us to enjoy. Remember we are all dying, one day at a time!
