View Full Version : Will need tires

Looked at the TT tires this weekend and they'll need to be replaced. After looking around and reading some reviews, I'm thinking of the Maxxis 205 75R/15. Anyone have any comments about these tires?

I get the feeling is that the consensus is to get an LT if possible. If not, then the Maxxis M8008 ST tires.

X2 on the Maxxis and get them balanced while you are at it.

Maxxis worked GREAT on last TT. This one doesn't need tires yet.

All of my reading and experience tells me that Maxxis M8008 ST tires are currently the best ST tires available.

Yup. I got them installed yesterday. Maxxis ST 255/75R15E. I had to have DT order them for me. Four tires, mounted and balanced, $748 OTD with road hazard certificates. I wasn't going to wait around for my Towmax tires to blow. Like the old saying: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! "bouncey:

I see a red dot on your Maxxis tires. I wonder if Maxxis are using the dots to to assist in balancing their tires? If so, Discount Tire may not know about it.

Maxxis appear to be a great choice for ST tires. I had a set on my trailmanor, that were 1 load range greater then stock, and they never gave me trouble. Of course I always checked inflation pressures and rarely towed over 75. At the time I purchased them, Maxxis advised a 10psi increase in pressure also increased top speed, as long as you did not increase weight. They no longer recommend this.
